SAND STORM SEPARATOR MYTH

These particle distribution analysis were taken at two separate district
cooling plants in Dubai. Both operate with centrifugal separators. We
realized that the particle analysis confirmed that most particle
remaining in the cooling tower water are smaller than 40 microns and
in one case had a suspended solid load of 69 ppm. Bi - monthly manual
cleanup of the sumps are often considered as normal routine operation.
This means - shutting down one cell at a time for a limited but repeated
period. |
